Arendse Reeh
Arendse Reeh is an anthropologist and artist working at the intersection of research, media, and documentary art. She holds an MSc in Anthropology from the University of Copenhagen. She is part of the SOLID team as a research assistant, communicating the project’s research through multimodal methods in the form of a mobile exhibition on forensic identification, death, and disappearance. Her work centres on multimodal and co-creative methodologies, including film, photo-voice, and collective poetry, to communicate ethnographic insights and foster shared spaces for reflection. Through this approach, she produces documentary exhibitions that translate complex social and emotional experiences into accessible and participatory formats.
Arendse Reeh has led and collaborated on a number of interdisciplinary projects addressing themes such as loneliness, belonging, reproductive health, and mental health. Her exhibitions include The place we stand, in the hidden lonely (2024), developed with the Danish Red Cross; Cellular Decisions (2025), on narratives surrounding life and abortion in partnership with Global Health Film Days; and We See Ourselves Reflected in Words (2025), a co-created installation on literary communities in psychiatry supported by the Velux Foundation.
In addition to her artistic practice, she has contributed to anthropological publications and collaborative research, and has experience in writing, podcasting, and documentary production. Her broader interests include experimental ethnography, narrative forms of knowledge production, and the communication of research beyond academia.
